PLAYERS

 

All players must sign the England Hockey Player Agreement before coming to their first hockey session, parent/guardians can do this on behalf of their children please use the appropriate option on the form. We encourage all our players to this this straight away, but it must be done at least 24 hours prior to your first hockey session. If you complete the agreement less than 24 hours, then you must bring the confirmation email with you to training to prove that you have signed it. NO PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PITCH WITHOUT SIGNING THE AGREEMENT. Make sure you list PGSOB as one of your organisations.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO BEFORE EACH SESSION:
Perform a Self-Assessment for symptoms of Covid-19. No one should leave home to participate in any form of hockey if they, or someone they live with, has any of the following:
1. A high temperature (above 37.8 C – some clubs may include on site temperature checking of participants as part of the SOP, this is more relevant to clubs who employ medical staff.
2. A new continuous cough
3. Shortness of breath
4. A sore throat
5. Loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell
6. Feeling generally unwell
7. Been in close contact with / lining with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the previous 2 weeks
 

Pack your protective equipment, including:
• Hand Sanitiser
• Gum Shield
• Shin Pads
• Glove
• Water Bottle
• Face Masks

 

NB If you experience any Covid-19 symptoms or test positive for Covid-19 you must inform PGSOB Hockey Club Covid-19 officer Steve Wherry immediately your team Captain.

We will contact players you have been training with so they are aware and can follow government guidance on self-isolating. You must also contact NHS Track and Trace https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-works. PGSOB will report any incidents of Covid-19 to England Hockey.

More Detailed Guidance is set out below and must be adhered to.

Training

• Follow Venue Signage / rules as displayed

• Wash your hands / sanitize ON ENTRY, during and AFTER the session on exit

• Only the Lead Coach is allowed in the dugouts – even when raining!!

• Ensure personal kit is protected from the weather, as it will be in the open at the side of the pitch during the session, spaced apart from others kit

• Please don’t share any of your kit with other players, including drinks bottles

• Please follow instructions from your coaches, captains & committee members

• Don’t touch the hockey balls / cones / markers, use your stick

• Don’t touch any of the shared training equipment / goals unless asked to do so & following sanitizing protocols explained by the coaches

• Keep at least 2m apart from other members of your group wherever possible when not engaged in hockey activity

• Mini Team talks, transitions and debriefs can all be socially distant

• Celebrate and congratulate with stick tapping!

 

Games (as above with additions)

• Captains will arrange meets away from the pitch and remain socially distant

• We will follow EH guidance on away travel – you can travel direct if preferred (but can’t claim mileage expenses)

• Currently no changing facilities will be used, arrive ready to play

• Sanitize before & after travel / arrival / games

• Team Warm ups will follow the above rules regarding kit / bibs

• First Aid kit will be administered by a nominated individual with PPE

• Respect the Umpire and the opposition

• Above all Stay safe and enjoy your hockey at PGSOB in 2021-22

• Players will be advised by their captains of the protocols for away games. Please do bear in mind these will differ according to the opposition clubs’ procedures.
